Your career demands strength, focus, and resilience every day. The stress is constant. The hours are long. The emotional weight adds up. Mental and physical health often take a back seat just to keep going.
You deserve more than survival mode. You deserve support that helps you feel steady, healthy, and grounded, on and off the job.
We deliver practical wellness education designed for the realities of this work. No extreme routines. No perfection. Just meaningful, sustainable change that fits real life.
Built To Support First Responders
Meet Our Founder,
Kristen Buckley
I know where you’re coming from. I have lived the life of a first responder.
I spent over 20 years in law enforcement, first as a police dispatcher and then as a police officer. I understand the pressure of the job, the constant state of alert, and how easily your own well-being gets pushed aside just to keep going.
Mental health has always mattered to me, especially in this profession. During my career, I served on my county’s Debriefing Team and as a department Resiliency Officer, supporting fellow first responders through critical incidents and ongoing stress. I saw firsthand how deeply this work affects people, often long before they realize it themselves.
Like many in this field, I faced my own struggles. I experienced PTSD and anxiety and sought counseling. After becoming a mom, I was diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis, which forced me to take my health seriously in a new way. I began making intentional changes to how I lived, ate, moved, and managed stress, not for quick fixes, but for long-term quality of life.
Those changes transformed my health. I lost weight, kept it off, avoided long-term medications, and feel stronger now than I did years earlier. More importantly, I learned that real wellness is not about extremes. It is about sustainable habits that fit real life.
After retiring from law enforcement, I became a certified Life Coach and Health & Wellness Coach so I could combine professional training with lived experience. My goal is simple: to help first responders build healthier, more balanced lives that support both their careers and their families.
I am also married to a firefighter and a mom to a young child, navigating a full-time job and family life just like so many of the people I serve. I am not perfect. I am a work in progress. And I share what I have learned so others don’t have to figure it out alone.
Positive Shifts exists because I know this path personally.
